Brainjacking
Inspiration doesn’t always strike when you need it. Like any creative process, your brain has to shift gears, moving from analytical to imaginative. For the record, that means shifting from the left hemisphere to the right.
At JAQUE, we call this process Brainjacking, the art of rerouting your thoughts toward inspiration.
(Insert visual of brain regions showing creative vs. logical thinking.)
We’re constantly searching for ideas that spark the imagination and ignite possibility. Just this past week, I found myself deep in a rabbit hole, searching for innovative, deconstructed brick applications for a new construction home, and came up empty.
That’s the double-edged sword of original design. While it’s exciting to create what hasn’t been done before, the challenge lies in presenting something visual when no reference exists. Spoiler alert, we made a bold decision. See the Talmage exterior images for where we landed.
Along the way, I stumbled across five fabulously designed spaces worth sharing. Each one is a reminder of the power of scale, authenticity, and risk-taking.
Too many chairs in a room? This space proves there’s no such thing. Sometimes, more legs equal more personality.
Scale matters. Online shopping makes it hard to judge size, but from window treatments to lighting, scale must guide every choice.
Be authentic. Let your space reflect who you are and what you love. Style only matters when it feels like you.
Start with the bones. Floors, walls, and lighting come first. Then layer in furniture like you’re styling the perfect outfit.
Be bold. Go over the top. Surprise yourself. You might just create something unforgettable.
