The Carlyle Collaboration

Taking Luxury Living to New Heights

How do you make a city’s largest residential high-rise meet the highest design standards? You trust JAQUE.

  • With 41 floors, The Carlyle is the largest residential high-rise tower in Minneapolis and the largest residential building in all of Minnesota. Before its completion in 2007, the builders’ overall goal was clear: Create a unique living experience that merges the best of prewar architectural style with the best of modern amenities.
  • When the builders put together their team of designers, architects and vendors, they hand-picked JAQUE to work at conceptual stage and throughout the building’s construction— including the original building layouts and common spaces.
  • “Working on a condominium building is much different than working on a residential home,” says JAQUE. “Like a hotel, the units are already set. You use models to sell from and then buyers select their own materials and decor. One of our goals was to make sure that the common areas solidified the stylization of the building’s units and conveyed the luxurious styling, and we knocked it out of the park.”
  • The result: The Carlyle is now considered the gold standard of luxury condo living in Minneapolis. As one architecture critic noted, “Although this is a very modern building, direct references to prewar architecture continue inside, with a general richness of palette and carefully devised unit plans that remind one of upper-crust apartments in Chicago and New York.”
