The journey began with the kitchen, where JAQUE was tasked with preserving the beloved original granite countertops and double islands while reimagining the entire space to elevate both its functionality and aesthetic. Custom cabinetry was meticulously built to fit the existing stone, creating a seamless blend of old and new. Every decision in the kitchen was made with precision, balancing a color palette of red, black, and gold with texture and proportion, ensuring that the space never felt overpowered.
Dramatic hand-hewn doors, sculptural lighting, and integrated seating layered the design, transforming the kitchen into not just a functional area but a space of layered purpose and beauty. The kitchen became a timeless center of the home, with every detail carefully considered to enhance both function and atmosphere.
From there, the design moved seamlessly into the next space: the indoor-outdoor bar. Designed entirely in “Good Taste,” this sculptural centerpiece was conceived to reflect the client’s classic style and love for sparkle. Surrounded by full-height glass that frames expansive desert and mountain views, JAQUE intentionally turned inward to create an immersive, atmospheric experience. The bar features a faceted, stone-clad design illuminated by over 200,000 integrated diodes, adding a dynamic light element to the space. The lighting was thoughtfully designed in close collaboration between fabricators and lighting consultants, ensuring the space’s weight-bearing structures and lighting effects harmonized perfectly.
The final centerpiece of the home’s transformation is The Serpent Cellar, a luxury wine and spirits wall that transcends traditional wine storage to become a sculptural anchor of the home. JAQUE’s design turned an underutilized space into a statement piece that blends engineering with interior artistry. Crafted from High-Density MDF, each of the two monolithic structures was precision-cut using CNC technology for strength and durability. Weighing over 600 pounds each, the pieces were carefully maneuvered into place, requiring precise coordination, including removing the home’s front door to navigate the monumental structures through tight corridors.
The cellar is brought to life with an illuminated slab of granite, which serves as a moody backdrop to the collection. Ten-foot-tall custom glass panels, adorned with bespoke snake-shaped handles, elegantly enclose the display. The Serpent Cellar is not just an aesthetic feature but a future-proof, permanent installation designed to hold wine, liquor, and refrigeration, making it a timeless addition that invites gathering, tasting, and reflection.
